Onion Cells

Description of the model

Onion cells are often used in biology classes as an introduction to microscopy.
Important cell structures such as the cell wall and the cell nucleus can be clearly seen under the microscope. These structures should also become comprehensible for visually impaired learners through the model.

This model was designed and tested as part of the 3D4VIP project.

Printing instructions and tips

There is the possibility to generate a two-colour print with the two-component model and a multiple nozzle printer.
Even for printers with only one extruder, it is possible to do a colour change with filament change at the height of 3 mm via the slicer settings.
