Number Stack

Three stacks are shown with the different representations of braille, print and raised tally mark

Description of the model

The Number Stack provides opportunities for students to work with numbers 1-10. Each piece has braille on one side and indented print on the other, so it can be used by all students in the class. The height of the pieces change, relative to the height of the rods that represent 10.

Students can explore which two numbers add to 10. The base has multiple rods which allow for comparisons, so students can experiment with making stacks of the same size e.g. 1 and 4, 2 and 3, 5.
